Meet Lily
Candlemaker and Owner of Pick'd & Wick'd Candle Co.
Hi There!

My name is Lily, and I am the proud creator and owner of Pick'd & Wick'd Candle Company.

I started this business during my summer break in 2018 shortly after my 12th birthday with a candle making kit I got as a gift from my Aunt Carley. (Thanks again Aunty Bear!) It's been an awesome adventure and a lot of work. I'm so happy for the people I've met, and the support I've been given from customers near by and all over the country.

If you've ever bought any of my products, simply decided to like or comment on any of my posts, or even took the time to make it to this site, I want to say Thank You! If it wasn't for you all this little business might never have been :)

How do we make our candles?
We might put your candles in junk, but we NEVER put junk in your candles!
Good Question!! Our candles are actually made of 100% all natural ingredients. Using either Soy or Occasionally Bees Wax melted down in my parent's kitchen for now (THANKS MOM!!) and hand poured by me one at a time! We also only use all natural essential oils (ZERO Phthalates - look it up, bad stuff!) and hemp wicks or wood in almost every candle. None of that artificial crap and Chinese paraffin stuff in the mix (Talking to you Yankee!!). We might put your candles in junk, but we NEVER put junk in your candles!
One of the funnest parts is hunting for the reclaimed vintage glass and tins that can come from yard sales, garbage cans, or your local antique store. (WestofWorcester is our favorite!) Many bottles are also actually donated from awesome people of all over, to get a new life, so please let me know if you have any you'd like to be re-purposed into one of our candles! No need to worry though, we do carefully clean each container before we melt the wax :) and the scents don't usually match the labels! (What you don't want one that smells like 1920's shoe polish?!) From there we carefully prepare the tin, and cut the bottles, sanding and shaping them to be safe and beautiful. Then, it's time to set the wicks, melt the wax, add the scents, and get pouring!
I won't bore you will all the 'science' but believe me, there was a BUNCH of mistakes and learning to get it just right. Now that we're finally happy with the blend, don't wait to find the right one for you and keep checking back for new concepts or better yet subscribe to our newsletter to know whats going on as we continue Pick'n & Wick'n!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Our Picks get Wax & Wicks!
Time to spill and chill! The most satisfying part of the process is pouring wax at just the right temperature into it's new home :) The smells, the heat, the slow flowing wax. It's therapeutic! (Minus the clean up!) Then, it's a careful choice of wick, and a balance of time and temps as the wax cures before it's offered for sale.
Old unwanted becomes new and loved once more!
There is truly nothing more rewarding than the compliments I get from the moment someone decides to buy one of my candles. More importantly seeing my hard work find a place in someone else's life, near or far! My customers keep me going in more ways than one! Thank You!
